As artists, Squirrels took inspiration from part of Henri Rousseau's painting Surprise! to create trees and plants using watercolours. They carefully blended vibrant greens and browns capturing the mysterious and magical atmosphere of Rousseau’s work. Once the watercolours had dried, they used pencil crayons to add intricate details to their trees and plants, from textured bark to delicate leaves. Keep your eyes peeled for the finished piece of work!
Squirrels carefully worked with a partner to draw a plan view of their classroom, marking out desks, chairs, cupboards, and their favourite reading area. Each child contributed their own perspective, turning a simple drawing into a shared map of their daily world, seen from above. Fab work Squirrels!
In Maths, Squirrels have been exploring the ideas of greater than, less than, and equal to. Through hands-on practical activities and guided discussion, they discovered how to use the symbols >, <, and = to describe the relationships between numbers.
After a busy week working hard, Squirrels love the reward of Golden Time and a chance to play with their friends!
Squirrels had great fun programming the Blue-Bots to move in different directions. In pairs, they thought carefully about their starting point and where they wanted their Blue-Bot to get to, by giving it the correct instructions. Super work, Squirrels!
This week, Squirrels fully emersed themselves into the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Through mime and dance they told the story of the beanstalk growing, Jack climbing the beanstalk and finding the Giant's castle at the top. They were very careful not to wake the giant! Great work, Squirrels!

Squirrels had great fun creating backgrounds for their self-portraits using a variety of colourful paper strips. They then spent time thinking about what they looked like, and drawing themselves to stick on top. Great work Squirrels!
